On February 7, my best friend Mike and I took a drive to Ouray, home of the Ouray Ice Park. Spanning one mile of the Uncompahgre Gorge, the Ouray Ice Park has 200+ routes up both natural and man-made ice formations. For the past 18 years, the park has hosted North America's largest ice festival, attracting some of the world's best climbers. A number of platforms around the gorge provide ideal vantage points for watching the climbers.
