Front Range Sunrise

Front Range, Colorado, 2015

Raindrops on the windshield at 4:30 a.m. at the trailhead for Grays Peak (14,278') and Torreys Peak (14,275') are an unwelcome sight, especially coming just a few days after lightning injured several people on nearby Mount Bierstadt.  Fortunately, as we hiked up the trail in the dark, the clouds began to thin and clear, leaving us with this brilliant sunrise followed by mostly clear skies and perfect weather for reaching both summits.
