High and Warm
Colorado National Monument, Colorado, 2013
The title might seem strange, but it describes the scene well. On this late November morning, the air temperature was somewhere between 20 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit, but the sunshine made it not only tolerable but downright comfortable. The clouds, though, prevented that sunshine from getting to the Grand Valley below, so while the valley is 2500' lower than where I was, I'm betting it felt a lot colder.
