Hiking to a View of Glymur
Botns
This is a part of our hike to Glymur that almost didn't happen. We got to the top of the waterfall just as a violent storm descended on us with ripping winds and horizontal snow. Unable to see the fall at all from its brink because of dangerous ice and snow, we began hiking back toward the jeep when, after a few minutes, the weather suddenly cleared. Defeat yielded to hope as we looked for a way across the river Botnsá to the other side of the canyon, where we eventually got our view of Glymur...just as a second storm wave rolled in. This image shows my great friends Brooke and Jaxon traversing the part of the route just before we crossed over a frozen section of the river. Photo © copyright by Greg Owens.
