It's not often that I make horizontal and vertical images of the same subject and like them both so much to post them, but that's exactly what happened in this case. Each has different strengths, but I let the viewer decide what they are and which image is better, if either. Ouray hosts an international ice-climbing festival each year, and it's easy to see why; the next one is January 8-11, 2015. Photo © copyright by Greg Owens.
