Goblin Valley State Park, Utah
Goblin Valley State Park, near Hanksville, Utah, was in the national news for all the wrong reasons in mid-October 2013, when some guys thought it would be a great idea to push over one of these Entrada sandstone formations. If anything good came of that, it was the ensuing outcry and widespread condemnation of such an ignorant act. It also reminded me that, like the glaciers in Glacier National Park, these rock formations will be here for a finite time, even when their demise is not accelerated by human hands. .
