Stars and the Bells
Maroon Bells - Snowmass Wilderness, White River National Forest, Colorado
Two 14ers, North and South Maroon, are the centerpieces of one of the most photographed landscapes in North America. A hundred or more people with cameras and tripods line up like soldiers along the lakeshore each day during autumn to shoot these peaks and the legendary fall colors of the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness reflected in Maroon Lake. One morning, I was among them, but I enjoyed much more shooting the night before under a clear sky with almost nobody else around. Photo © copyright by Greg Owens.
