Storm on the Sierra Crest
Sierra Nevada, California
After a tremendous backpacking trip from South Lake through Dusy Basin, Evolution Basin, and Lamarck Col to North Lake, I went across the Owens Valley to the White Mountains to spend some time with the bristlecone pines and to get away from the violent afternoon storms that had been pounding the Sierra. As I was heading up to the Patriarch Grove in the late afternoon, this storm rolled up across the valley, and I made this image with a telephoto lens, happy to be photographing the storm from far away.
