Sunrise on Mormon Row
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
My friend Ed Holliman and I went out early on a frigid September morning to photograph sunrise light at this well-known old barn on Mormon Row. Several minutes after we had already set up for a wide-angle perspective, a van-load of photo-workshop clients disembarked, walking frantically and muttering that we were blocking "the best shot," obtained by backing up and using a telephoto lens to compress the scene, thereby making the Teton Range loom larger over the barn. I guess if I had wanted to shoot what everyone else shoots, that's where I would have been, and you would see the results here. Photo © copyright by Greg Owens.
