Black Canyon isn't the deepest, widest, grandest, or likely any other -est canyon in the U.S., and perhaps because of that, it doesn't draw the crowds that other National Park Service units do. Solitude is especially abundant on the less-visited North Rim, where you can find amazing views of the Painted Wall and the 2200'+ vertical drop to the Gunnison River below.
